Separate Ways (24"x36" Poster - Unframed)
This piece was titled “Separate Ways “ as I looked at this car through a lens of sentiment and adoration. Imagine watching your prized possession -- a car you loved -- pull away... the rumbling exhaust whispers goodbye as if it is aware of the time it was once your most treasured passion but it now must move on. "We touched and went our separate ways." (a line straight out of the Journey song.) This is a common theme I hear when speaking to car owners at car shows. Some are showcasing a new acquisition, some are sitting beside their "old friend" they have had for decades, but in many cases, these owners have not just one story to tell about the car that they have currently, but they talk also about the "ones that got away." Life is unpredictable and sometimes people need to part with their beloved cars for one reason or another. It is these stories that inspire me to create a type of homage to a vehicle that says more than an untreated photograph. You may not always have the car... but you can keep a passionate rendering of it forever.
