Beautiful enhanced pics of guitars

I love the look of the guitars. IMHO they are works of art. This deck of playing cards takes that idea to a higher level. The artist(s) took pictures of different guitars, then enhanced the images with (usually) vibrant colors. The result is a beautiful set of color-saturated images of all kinds of guitars. A cursory review of the deck suggests that there are no duplications of identical images, so you have 52 different pictures of guitars. As you can expect with that many choices, there are some that are very nice and others where I think the colors are so vivid that they detract from the natural beauty of the instruments. But overall, this is a great item and would make a very nice gift for any guitar-loving friend or family member. I also like that it comes in a plastic case to protect the cards. I can’t tell if the cards are plastic coated. I suspect not which is a shame because I’m afraid to use these since they are so beautiful. I’m trying to think of some way to display them where they won’t be damaged. Great product.

Very well done. A fun gift for the guitarist in your life.

I made my full-time living as a professional musician for twenty years. I have a guitar collection somewhere around 20 instruments, mostly Fenders. My wife put this card deck in my Christmas stocking.

I like nice things and this deck is very nice. Feel great in hand. The graphics are very well done. Probably half the deck is Fender and Gibson style guitars. The rest are more obscure, but still recognizable to a true gear head.

I like it enough I will take care so the deck will last. A solid gift for the guitarist in your life.

Guitar Art Posters

The Process

In creating this collection of embellished and stylized guitar art, my work began with photos that I shot. I then enhanced the images with manually drawn splashes, splatters and textured scrapes of color using digital brushes, applying unique and intentional effects to each part of the image.

The Titles

Most of this art tumbles onto the canvas from a place of pure emotion, simply translating energy into a visual experience. When it comes time to give it a title, I like to "pair" the art with a song I love, the way you might pair a wine with a meal. The correlation is not typically about the brand of guitar and who played what on an album or a song; it’s much more abstract. I simply connect the colors and textures and overall feel of the art to a song that I feel might illustrate the same feelings as the art. That being said… It just so happens David Gilmour of the band Pink Floyd played a 1969 Fender Stratocaster in "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" like the one in my piece with the same name. The artwork has a little bit of a vintage vibe, a little bit of crazy, and a lot of soul.

Example:
“What It Is”
I paired fiery guitar art with a cynical yet upbeat song by Mark Knopfler called "What It Is." The extreme darks and lights of the piece play into the contrast of good and bad, rich and poor, hopelessness and hope, distress and comfort, and the struggle of accepting the way it is.
